Welcome to my blog!

Thank you for taking the time to stop by and visit! We hope to share with you our journey of raising a child with Achondroplasia, the most common type of dwarfism. If this is your first time here, please start by reading Caitlyn's Story. It will share the beginning of her life with you. Enjoy!

Simple Woman’s Daybook – August 16th

FOR TODAY – August 16th – I’ve taken a break from these posts, but now that summer is coming to an end and Caty is back in school, I’m hoping to get back into my weekly Daybook posts.
Outside my window...  the sun is shining and the birds are chirping.
I am thinking...  WOW!!  A morning nap for Hanna, hope that she’ll still take one this afternoon.
I am thankful for... the fact that Caty is not letting her cast stop her from doing anything, well, almost anything – she can’t go to the bathroom by herself.
From the kitchen... the dishwasher just stopped, so I should go and unload them.
I am wearing...  shorts and a tank top.
I am creating...  a new website for our local LPA chapter.
I am going...  to head outside and soak in some sunshine after I finish this and before Hanna wakes up from her nap – my Maui tan is already fading!  :-(
I am reading... The Edge of Winter by Luanne Rice
I am hoping... that Caty does indeed get her cast off and that it stays off when we go back to see the orthopedic dr on the 26th.
I am hearing...  the birds chirping and Billy Currington singing “People are Crazy” – God is great, beer is good and people are crazy!
Around the house... the cat is pacing – he can never make up his mind – inside or outside.
One of my favorite things...  is that Hanna still loves to play alone!  That’s awesome because Caty was and still isn’t like that.
A few plans for the rest of the week…  School, school and more school.  Wednesday night is Caty’s Back To School Night.  Thursday – my brother, sister in law and niece will be coming up for a visit – they’ll be staying at my parents.  On Saturday, we’ll head out there to spend the day with them.  Sunday night we’re going to head out and listen to our friend Dave’s band, the Blue Blazes, play at Rusch Park.
A picture that I am sharing...  it’s gotta be one of Caty and her pretty pink cast! She was hanging out on our bed watching some tv.

So sorry that Caty has a fracture, but I love her pink cast and matching pedicure! Hopefully, she will get the cast off on the 26th!
That is a great song! Simon and I sing along every time we hear it!
Enjoy the busy but fun week!

Pretty matching pedi. She'll need to get that cast off if you have plans on taking her to Country in the Park. Praying!

Nikki likes Caty's cast and wants a 'blue big one band aid like that!' Love the toenails painted to match too - very cute!

I was having trouble finding the comment section-I had to actually click on the title of this blog. Just an FYI.
You know I love these simple daybook posts. I am so jealous lately of SAHM and getting to enjoy the simple things in life that make the world such an amazing place. It's so real and so necessary because life is so hectic! Big hugs to Caty bug in her cast! Miss you tons!
