Welcome to my blog!

Thank you for taking the time to stop by and visit! We hope to share with you our journey of raising a child with Achondroplasia, the most common type of dwarfism. If this is your first time here, please start by reading Caitlyn's Story. It will share the beginning of her life with you. Enjoy!

Custom Little Person Bike Raffle

A good LPA friend of mine needs some help.  Tracey adopted their son, Kullen (who has Achondroplasia like Caty) in the fall of 2010.  The family is now in the process of adopted two more kids who have Achon.  Please visit Tracey's blog - A Dozen Reasons & More

The cost of adoption is very high for one child, just imagining the cost of bringing two kids home is ridiculous!  To help with raising money towards the adoption they are hosting a raffle to win a custom bike or trike from Nathan Hooper.

If you haven't met Nathan before, you need to.  He is an average height who became good friends with an LP in college.  From the moment he met Mike, he made a pledge to help out LP's as best that he could.  He received his degree in engireering, and created Me & Hoops.  Here's a link to his Facebook page - http://www.facebook.com/Meandhoopscustomcreations

And here's where you can step in.  Nathan is building a custom bike for the winner of Tracey's raffle.  Tickets will be sold for only $20 each.  The custom bike is worth about $500.

This next part is taken from Tracey's blog with instructions on how to purchase tickets.

To purchase tickets, Please go to the chip in at the top, right of this blog page. Then add the dollar  amount for how ever many tickets you would like purchase and complete that part. Then at the top where there is a contact me button, please send me a message with how many tickets you paid for, your name, address, phone number and email address! I do not want anyone posting that info on the comments as we don't want that info public.  I will write your names on the tickets and send you a little stub in the mail confirming I got it. I will probably send you an email as soon as I get your information anyways.

If you don't have an lp in your family but would like to help anyways, please donate towards their adoption through the same chip on her blog.

Caty has a Nathan Hooper original and LOVES it!!!  Here's a picture collage of her and her custom bike - and even a pic of her and Nathan.  I sent Tracey a few others pictures and even some videos of Caty and her bike.  Those are posted on Tracey's blog post - http://adozenreasonsandmore.blogspot.com/2012/07/custom-little-person-bike-raffle.html

Hope that you'll consider helping out my friend Tracey.

Wordless Wednesday continued...

I got a comment on my Wordless Wednesday post about our slime/goo that we made. Vanessa wanted to know what it was so here you go.

How To Make Goo

Make squishy non-toxic goo that hardens in your hands when you squeeze it, but flows like a liquid when you pour it.

Difficulty: Easy
Time Required: minutes
Here's How:

Empty the box of cornstarch into a bowl.
Add 1-1/2 cups of water.
Add about 15 drops of food coloring. It's fine without color, too.
Mix the goo with your hands.
Have fun!!
