Welcome to my blog!

Thank you for taking the time to stop by and visit! We hope to share with you our journey of raising a child with Achondroplasia, the most common type of dwarfism. If this is your first time here, please start by reading Caitlyn's Story. It will share the beginning of her life with you. Enjoy!

The Simple Woman’s Daybook – April 30st

FOR TODAY – April 30th

Outside my window...  the breeze is blowing but at least the sun is shining!

I am thinking...  how proud I am of Caty for riding her scooter in her preschools St Jude Trike-a-thon this morning.  So far she’s raised $50 – hope to raise a little more by Wednesday when the money needs to get turned in.

I am thankful for... the fact that it’s FRIDAY!!

From the kitchen... the recipe for Peanut Butter cookies is calling my name – need to get them made for our LPA picnic tomorrow.

I am wearing...  jean capris, a shirt and a sweater.

I am creating...  some business cards to take with us to Nashville.  They will have my info on them so I can pass it out to new friends that I make during the week.

I am going...  to “hopefully” catch up on posting some blogs over the weekend – in my spare time!!

I am reading... the LPA Nashville registration book over and over again, double checking what I’m going to sign us up for – gotta get it filled out online tonight.

I am hoping... that Hanna will stop crying and fall asleep for her nap – isn’t looking (or sounding) good.

I am hearing...  see above answer.

Around the house...  Hanna is in her crib, Caty is sitting on the couch taking her “quiet time” and watching Strawberry Shortcake.

One of my favorite things...  is that I don’t have to make dinner tonight – gonna grab something.

A few plans for the rest of the week…  tomorrow we have an LPA event and on Sunday Hanna and I are going to a 1st birthday party for our friend Emma, and Scott and Caty are going to help Aidan celebrate turning 5!

Here is picture for thought I am sharing...

Go Caty! She is riding that scooter like a pro. Her new favorite pastime it appears.

Very cool! LiZ did the St. Jude's trikethon a year ago in preschool. Hard to believe it's been a year. Caty looks so cute. Loving it!

Oh Go Caty! That is so awesome. Does she ever frown? Or Cry? Because I think I have only seen a happy Caty! Which is awesome. I love when you write these types of posts. I feel as if I am sitting right in the room with you! So sorry we will be missing Nashville, but I need to start getting more furniture and the like. Maybe next year since I've been to the islands and Europe but not California!

Love that shot of Caty! :) I saw your note about the handprint butterflies...what we did for Sydney was to paint the palm of her hand and then press it onto the paper myself. It actually worked out! Then we just had to run to the sink before she wiped her hands all over herself or anything else! LOL!

Way to go Caty!! She's so cute on her scooter! What a great cause too!
I finally registered for the Nashville events at 10:00pm on Sunday . . . nothing like waiting til the last minute. We are registered for the showboat, Grand Ole Opry, and Family Night. Can't wait to see you and Caty!!
I love these posts! I keep saying that I'm going to start these, but as usual, I just need more time in a day to get everything done that I would like. :)
