Welcome to my blog!

Thank you for taking the time to stop by and visit! We hope to share with you our journey of raising a child with Achondroplasia, the most common type of dwarfism. If this is your first time here, please start by reading Caitlyn's Story. It will share the beginning of her life with you. Enjoy!

LPA Fall Regional

Our local chapter of LPA hosted the Fall Regional over the weekend of October 2-4th.  Being the Vice President of our chapter, as well as a Parent Coordinator, meant being on the planning committee.  I think that the weekend was a success.  We had around 160 attendees – not too shabby!  We are so lucky that we live right smack dab in the middle of CA and have a huge chapter.  The weekend gave us a chance to catch up with friends and meet some new ones.  For the past 16 months, I’ve been following the blog of Alex, whose daughter, Anais, also has Achondroplasia.  We communicate through Facebook as well.  This weekend we FINALLY got to meet in person – what a wonderful and beautiful family she has.  You know, when you get together with someone you’ve never personally met, yet follow along with daily, it’s such an incredible feeling.  We also got to meet, in person, a few others families that I am in touch with on Facebook – the Dino’s from Southern CA and the Tumbioli family from Fresno.  To all the other families that we got to see again, it was wonderful – the Heuer’s, the Cortez’s, the Chase’s and the William’s.  And here’s to new friends made – glad you were there!

Looks like a great time - good job! You are so lucky to live in an area where LPA is active. The WV chapter is inactive and all the District 5 activities are 8-12 hours away :( Caty just gets cuter with every passing day!

You got some great dancing photos. Aidan was so tired by the time the dancing started that we left and missed all that fun.

Looks like you all had a great time! I wish that we had more LP children in our area for Quentin to "hang" with...

It looks like everyone had a great time! That is so nice for Caty that there are so many young kids in your chapter! Caty is so adorable with all of her friends, and I love her busting a move! Hanna is the cutest centerpiece!

Looks like everyone had a wonderful time together! It's so awesome that you live in an area with a large chapter! Isn't it nice to think that Caty will have all these great close knit LP friends in the future that she has grown up with! Too cute how Hanna became the center piece! I love those bebe pod seats! Sonya still uses hers when we visit my mom and she too becomes the cutest center piece!

I am so happy I can post a comment! YAY! Caty looks so stinkin adorable in these pictures. She is obviously Miss Personality. Busting a move like that on the dance floor. It's so great how all the kids get along. I know the feeling of meeting members of our "family." It's like we have known each other forever even though we have all just met in person for the first time. I hope to meet you next summer.
As for your Hanna-what a cutie pie! Oh I can just eat her up. She is adorable and what a centerpiece!

It is always great to meet other families like us! We would love to meet you some day as well :-)
Last weekend we went to Baltimore to visit Amelia's "twin" Ivy and we got to meet 2 other sweet babies with families, What a treat! I love your pictures, great to read such a cheerful post!
