Welcome to my blog!

Thank you for taking the time to stop by and visit! We hope to share with you our journey of raising a child with Achondroplasia, the most common type of dwarfism. If this is your first time here, please start by reading Caitlyn's Story. It will share the beginning of her life with you. Enjoy!

Simple Woman’s Daybook – June 20th 2011

For today – June 20th 2011

Outside my window...  the sun is shining and it’s HOT!!  Supposed to be 97* today

I am thankful for... air conditioning – gonna be a hot one!

I am wearing... shorts and a tank top

I am creating... nothing yet but needing to do a new background for the blog – it’s no longer springtime – bring on summer!

I am going to… finish on here and then read the book below.

I am reading... My Sister’s Voice by Mary Carter – so far so good

I am hoping... that Hanna isn’t too grumpy this afternoon since she’s not taking a nap

I am hearing... not much: Caty is in her room reading, Hanna is sitting in her Dora chair sucking her thumb and Scott is watching golf.

Around the house...  see above

A few plans for the rest of the week…  Heading out to Barnes and Noble this afternoon, nothing tomorrow, Wednesday we’ve got to head to the airport to pick up my parents car – yes they are leaving again…this time they are heading out of the country for a Baltic Cruise – starting in Copenhagen Denmark and hitting Warnemunde Germany, Stockholm Sweden, Helsinki Finland, St Petersburg Russia, Tallinn Estonia, Aarhus Denmakr, Oslo Norway and back to Copenhagen – sure wish they could pack me in their suitcase.  Sounds like a fabulous vacation.  Thursday night I’m heading out to hear the Chris Gardner Band play.  Friday we might meet some friends at the park.  Not much over the week but will need to start thinking about packing for ANAHEIM!!!!!

Simple Woman’s Daybook – June 6th 2011

For today – June 6th 2011

Outside my window...  it’s dreary and windy – I’m so ready for warm weather.

I am thankful for... the fact that it’s summer vacation for Caty and Scott

I am wearing... exercise capris and a sweatshirt

I am creating... nothing at the moment.

I am going to… head out for a walk when I’m done with this post.

I am reading... nothing – finished House Rules and haven’t decided which of my 100+ books I’m going to pick up next…I’ll let you know next Monday.

I am hoping... that the weathermen are right and that it’s going to be sunny and 75* tomorrow.

I am hearing... not much – the girls are in their rooms – Hanna is napping and Caty is reading – Scott’s listening to PJ Radio.

Around the house...  need to find places for Hanna’s new things that she got for her birthday yesterday.

A few plans for the rest of the week…  Not much today or tomorrow… then it gets busy.  Wednesday I’m heading to my parents, alone, to help my mom find a new phone at Verizon and then she’s going to be showing me how to work their vrbo site (where they list their Maui condo) so I can keep up with inquires while they are gone during the end of June, beginning of July on a Baltic Cruise.  Not much going on on Thursday and Friday, thankfully because this weekend is CRAM PACKED!!  Saturday I’ve got an LPA Regional Planning Meeting, then Caty will be at bday party from 2-4 and I’ll be at a baby shower from 3:30-5:30.  Sunday we’ve got our LPA Chapter’s event at Land Park from 12-3, then we’re going to Rusch Park to hear the 90’s cover band, One Headlight, play.  They were supposed to play yesterday but postponed it because of the rain.  Then sometime on Sunday, I’m not sure when but hoping to hear soon, the Chris Gardner Band will be playing at the Valencia Club in Penryn, so I’m wanting to head over there.  I think that that about covers my plans :-)

A picture that I am sharing... My 2 year old…bday party pictures to follow – haven’t had time to get them uploaded onto the computer yet.

Flashback Friday

We are just two days away from celebrating Hanna’s 2nd birthday.  How is it even possible that it’s been 2 years already?  Seems like just yesterday I was laying in the hospital bed, in labor, and on facebook.  :-)

After 21 hours of labor and 3 1/2 hours of pushing Hanna arrived at 4:53 am on June 5th weighing in at 8 lbs 3 oz and was 19 3/4 inches.
