Welcome to my blog!

Thank you for taking the time to stop by and visit! We hope to share with you our journey of raising a child with Achondroplasia, the most common type of dwarfism. If this is your first time here, please start by reading Caitlyn's Story. It will share the beginning of her life with you. Enjoy!

It's okay to show off a little bit, right?

For those of you that have had the privilege of meeting our Caty in person, you probably have received a colored picture from her. Most recently, Mike and Cherylle can vouch for this fact. Caitlyn is a coloring FREAK!! Scott receives at least one new picture a day for his collection at school, which used to cover just his filing cabinet. Now it's extended up the wall and I'm sure other places.

I'm sure that most of you parents of LP's out there can say that our kids are extremely smart. Not sure why it is, but dwarfs usually have higher IQ's. Any of you parents of LP's know why? Caitlyn's been singing songs, as you are all well aware of, she's also known her alphabet letters for quite some time now and can officially write almost all of them. This is where the showing off starts.

Using every color in the crayon box

Her newest thing - making "art projects" - covering papers completely with stickers
AND THE FINAL TADA...
All I had to do was tell her which letters to write. She is able to do her name (she needed a little help with the letters in Caitlyn, as she usually just does Caty), Mommy, Daddy, Nana and Papa without any help. Tutu is pretty easy as well (that is Scott's mom - Tutu is grandma in Hawaiian)

I'm super impressed! Beautiful artwork and handwritting from a beautiful smart girl! I love the name Tutu! My daughter Akela has a hawaiian name too! Akela is Hawaiian for Adelaide, my grandmothers name. Love the pictures!

Wish there was a way to post a pic as a comment! I tagged you in the picture Caty drew for Caitlin at the regional last month so everybody over there can see it. Love the creativity!!

Oh my gosh...Caty is so fun and cute and talened, not to mention so smart! Emily loves to sing songs also. Emily knows her colors and can count to ten. She will be coloring pictures like Caty in another two years. I wish we were closer so that they could play. My mom is coming to Sacramento this week. She may call you to meet you. I hope thats ok. Have a great week.

Yes you can show off! That is amazing! I truly think her letters are better than David's, and he is what, almost 4 years older? In fact, her letters are better than many of the kids in David's 1st grade class!

Its funny, I was just looking at the drawing she did for David the last time we were at breakfast and admiring her abilities. True story!

I'll admit I am a bit biased though, seeing as how she is a fellow Brad Paisley fan AND one of my favorite kiddos to have breakfast with! LOL
