Welcome to my blog!

Thank you for taking the time to stop by and visit! We hope to share with you our journey of raising a child with Achondroplasia, the most common type of dwarfism. If this is your first time here, please start by reading Caitlyn's Story. It will share the beginning of her life with you. Enjoy!

The Simple Woman’s Daybook – April 30st

FOR TODAY – April 30th

Outside my window...  the breeze is blowing but at least the sun is shining!

I am thinking...  how proud I am of Caty for riding her scooter in her preschools St Jude Trike-a-thon this morning.  So far she’s raised $50 – hope to raise a little more by Wednesday when the money needs to get turned in.

I am thankful for... the fact that it’s FRIDAY!!

From the kitchen... the recipe for Peanut Butter cookies is calling my name – need to get them made for our LPA picnic tomorrow.

I am wearing...  jean capris, a shirt and a sweater.

I am creating...  some business cards to take with us to Nashville.  They will have my info on them so I can pass it out to new friends that I make during the week.

I am going...  to “hopefully” catch up on posting some blogs over the weekend – in my spare time!!

I am reading... the LPA Nashville registration book over and over again, double checking what I’m going to sign us up for – gotta get it filled out online tonight.

I am hoping... that Hanna will stop crying and fall asleep for her nap – isn’t looking (or sounding) good.

I am hearing...  see above answer.

Around the house...  Hanna is in her crib, Caty is sitting on the couch taking her “quiet time” and watching Strawberry Shortcake.

One of my favorite things...  is that I don’t have to make dinner tonight – gonna grab something.

A few plans for the rest of the week…  tomorrow we have an LPA event and on Sunday Hanna and I are going to a 1st birthday party for our friend Emma, and Scott and Caty are going to help Aidan celebrate turning 5!

Here is picture for thought I am sharing...

Fun in the Sun

We’ve had some great CA weather ( and of course some not so great CA weather lately).  We took advantage of the sunny days and spent some time playing in the backyard.

Hanna testing out grass for the first time – didn’t seem to phase her at all.  Let’s hope that the sand doesn’t bother her while we’re in Maui.

Jinx had to get in a picture too!

Swing, batter batter, swing batter!

Hasn’t the coach told you to keep your eyes on the ball!

Maybe she’s ready for tennis, instead of baseball!

Such determination!

A good example of how she DOESN’T STAND STILL!!

And on another day we took a walk to the park and the girls enjoyed some swinging.

Easter Fun

Our first Easter celebration was with our LPA family.  The Chase family hosted a wonderful event and we couldn’t have asked for better weather.  The day was filled with Easter egg hunting and a visit from the Easter Bunny.

On Easter morning Caty enjoying hunting for the Easter eggs that the Easter Bunny left her them.  Don’t mind Caty’s whacked out hair-do; nothing was going to stop her from hunting for those eggs!

Mid-morning we headed out for a drive up to Nevada City where my Aunt Claudia has a vacation home.  My cousin Greg and his girlfriend, Kerry were there, as well as Claudia’s god-daughter Ali and Ali’s daughter Kaia.  We had a great visit, so good, I hardly got any pictures taken.  I did manage a few.
Easter would not be complete without a Ms Pac-Man game – doesn’t everyone need a Ms Pac-Man arcade game in their living room!

And I think my favorite picture from the trip (you’d never guess from this picture that Greg is an SVU Detective – what a good sport!).
